The Sudbury Five Win Home Opener Against Windsor With Ease

The Sudbury Five take to the court after a two year hiatus on Family Day and stomp down Windsor express with a score of 113-108. This years version of the Sudbury Five looked much like the inaugural team that hit the court minus their key player Braylon Rayson who is in Europe at the moment.

Having Braylon Rayson absent didn’t seem to harm the Five one bit as they took it to the Express in their home opener in front of a large and noisy crowd at the Sudbury Community Arena. The electric atmosphere helped the Five as they didn’t take their foot off of the gas pedal at all in the game.

From the time the Five took the opening jump ball they seemed to dominate in almost all aspects of the game leading after the first quarter with a score of 30-28.

The Five were seemingly unstoppable in the first half with the score ending 65-54.

They continued to dominate in the third quarter as well. Sudbury really took it to the Windsor express ending the third with a 93-82.

After the game the Five had some championship confidence as the post game interview with Dexter Williams Jr proved to be a doozy. This is where Williams Jr. who had 24 points on the night acknowledged the crazy atmosphere at the game.

Next up for the Sudbury Five is a game against Indiana where they will look to keep the momentum going. Sudbury doesn’t play another home game until March 5th where they will host the Lancing Pharaohs.
