Queen’s Athletic Field Skating Oval Opens Today At 4 p.m. & We Couldn’t Be More Excited

Queen’s Athletic Field opening their skating oval right before Christmas is the type of good news Greater Sudbury residents need. The skating oval which is a popular hit for residents of the city opens today and we couldn’t be more excited about it.

Greater Sudbury put out a tweet this afternoon saying that the skating oval will be open for the season starting at 4 p.m. today, December 23, 2021. This great outdoor activity should be taken advantage of before Public Health Sudbury & Districts finds a reason to shut the outdoor exercise and entertainment venue down.

Skating Oval Open This Afternoon!

Queen’s Athletic Skating Oval will open for the 2021/2022 season at 4 p.m. on December 23.

Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, from 4 to 10 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 10 p.m. The Oval will be closed Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Residents are reminded that hockey, ringette and shinny are not permitted on the skating oval. Schools and community groups are asked to call the City of Greater Sudbury for reservations at 705-674-4455, extension 4578.

Before booking or using any City facilities, ensure you are free of any COVID-19 symptoms.
