Johnson & Johnson Vaccines Now Available To Ontario Residents But There Is A Caveat

Today marks the first day that the single dose Johnson & Johnson COVID 19 vaccine will be available for the people of Ontario. However, if you think you I’ll be able to snag one of these instead you maybe be in for a surprise.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is only eligible to certain groups of people. Even though the vaccine has been approved for people 18 and over in Canada since March of 2021, you may still not qualify.

According to a Narcity article only people 18 years old or older and have “an allergy or contraindication to mRNA vaccines”, will be eligible to receive the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.

Ontario also reached another milestone today. The milestone of over 90% of Ontarians who are 12 years of age and older have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
