Iconic Downtown Sudbury Personality “Dino The Popcorn Man” Has Passed Away & That’s Really Sad

One of Downtown Sudbury’s most iconic personalities has sadly passed away. Dino “The Popcorn Man” was a staple in the Downtown Sudbury community for decades.

If you had grown up frequenting the downtown core you will most likely remember Dino as the man who sold popcorn at the corner of Larch and Durham street for many years. This was back when Black Cats was a corner store and the downtown was a bustling place for people to go.

Dino “The Popcorn Man” was known to those who visited Downtown Sudbury as the guy who sold popcorn. If you were a kid in the 70’s or 80’s the chances are you have had a bag of the salty popcorn.

His name was Dino Theodos, and after his life of slinging kernels he became a longtime resident at Extendicare York. According to his Obituary in Sudbury.com he passed away on February 22nd, 2022 and will be resting at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury where friends may gather from 5-7pm Thursday with prayers at 6pm. Funeral Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel on Friday, March 4th, 2022 at 10am.

Dino Theodos was one of the most memorable Downtown Sudbury personalities and businessmen that Sudbury has ever had. Dino will be missed by many who had the opportunity to visit his popcorn stand.
