Here Is What A Sudbury Lockdown Could Look Like If We Screw This Up

It been quite some time now since Sudbury came out of lockdown from the first wave of COVID-19. Unfortunately though the waves are coming and crashing down in places all around Ontario at this moment.

What we are seeing right now is Ontario Premier putting Toronto and Peel Region into lockdown for 28 days. Unfortunately this is 28 days before Christmas and there are lots of people who depend on Christmas time to make a little extra cash.

Up here in Northern Ontario we have been a little luckier than our neighbours of the South. This probably has a lot to do with how we live and our sheer number of people we have clustered together in our cities.

If Sudbury goes into a lockdown it will probably look a lot like what we are seeing in Toronto right now. Since that is the case, here is what’s open and allowed in Toronto during there lockdown. Maybe we can find some similarities as to what will happen if Sudburians screw this up and a Sudbury lockdown happens.

According to the government of Ontario they only allow or want you to leave the house for school, work, groceries/pharmacy, healthcare, assisting vulnerable individuals, or excercise and physical activity.

Now that you know whats expected here is a list of whats closing in Toronto and Peel.

Closing

  • Gyms
  • Movie Theatres
  • Sports Facilites
  • Casinos
  • Museums
  • Personal Service (ie. Hair and Nail Salons)

Remaining Open For Take-Out/Delivery or Curb Side Service

  • Restaurants
  • Shopping Malls
  • Non-essential Services

What about churches and religious services?

According to the government of Ontario only 10 people will be able to congregate indoors and 10 people outdoors. That goes for religious services and weddings. Unfortunately being that it is so close to Christmas this one may cause a bit of controversy.

Hopefully our cases remain low so we can avoid a Sudbury lockdown around the Christmas Season.
