Greater Sudbury Shuts Down Outdoor Rinks & Its Not Because Of The Pandemic

Surprisingly, the pandemic couldn’t stop the outdoor fun that was had this winter in Greater Sudbury. What did us in instead? The weather.

The City of Greater Sudbury announced today that they are closing the Queen’s Athletic Field skating oval, Ramsey Lake skate path, as well as all municipal outdoor rinks due to a stretch of mild weather.

The City of Greater Sudbury expressed thanks to everyone for coming out and that they are looking forward to next year’s reopening.

Both the skating oval at Queen’s Athletic field and the skating path at Ramsey Lake provide a great place to exercise and create new winter memories. Opportunities for fun during the Covid-19 pandemic are limited and amenities like these certainly help to lift the spirits of many Sudbury residents.
