Greater Sudbury Had 6 More Resolved Covid-19 Cases Today & That’s Fantastic

The number of Covid-19 cases in the PHSD reporting area dropped again today. This time we seen 6 more resolved cases within the reporting area. 

The total number of cases are also down to under 50 for the first time in a few weeks. Unfortunately though we have had someone test positive for the UK variant of the coronavirus which will most likely raise some concerns. 

Public Health Sudbury & Districts reports the number of daily Covid-19 cases on their website daily at 4 p.m.. While today we had 6 resolved cases we also had 5 new ones. However that still means that we seen a decrease in the number of cases. 

Recently the number of active cases were up to 99. Fortunately the community has worked together to reduce that number to 49. 

It is also not known at this time how the 5 cases today were contacted. Public Health is still investigating if these cases were travel related, community spread or outbreak related. 

Over the coarse of the pandemic the reporting area for Public Health Sudbury and Districts has seen 532 cases and of which 120 were outbreak related, 274 close contact of a confirmed case, 49 travel related and 84 no known epidemiological link. 

As it stands as of noon today there are 5 confirmed cases admitted to Health Sciences North and of those 5 there are 2 in the ICU.
